Stephen Mawditt was ordained as a Church of England minister in 1996 and has served on the Fountain of Life leadership team since the church was established nine years ago. In February 2005 Stephen was appointed as Minister of the Fountain of Life succeeding Martin Down following his retirement. He is married to Pippa and they have a 21-year old son, Simon. Stephen's background before ordination was in business management and the family moved to Norfolk in 1988 when Stephen and Pippa were appointed to manage Letton Hall, a Christian Conference centre.

Stephen and Pippa have been Christians since attending an Alpha course in the early '80's at Holy Trinity Brompton, London.
